Playy Piano Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 27, 2026

Overview

Playy Piano is a MIDI piano learning app. The app does not require an account, does not show ads, does not sell personal data, and does not track users across apps or websites.

Information Stored On Your Device

Playy Piano stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Course progress, lesson stars, and unlocked lessons.
  • Practice history, recent drills, and practice scores.
  • Saved chord presets and the most recently edited practice settings.
  • Audio preferences such as drum volume and backing-track latency.

This learning data is used to resume practice, show progress, and personalize the app experience on the same device. It is not sent to Playy Piano servers.

Usage Analytics, Feedback, Crash Reports, And Diagnostics

Playy Piano uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve the learning experience. Analytics events can include:

  • Screens and navigation choices.
  • Course, lesson, drill, and practice-session usage.
  • MIDI setup actions and whether connection flows succeed or fail.
  • Practice settings such as drill type, selected keys or roots, selected scale or chord types, chord order, inversions, rhythm pattern, tempo, duration, hint usage, and mode.
  • Aggregated practice results such as attempts, misses, completion, stars, and timing summary.

Analytics events do not include MIDI note streams, feedback text, names, email addresses, raw MIDI device names, or audio recordings.

Playy Piano uses Sentry to receive crash reports, performance diagnostics, and user feedback. When this data is sent, it may include:

  • Crash logs, error details, performance information, app version, device model, operating system version, and similar diagnostic details.
  • Feedback text you choose to submit.
  • Optional name and optional email address if you enter them in the feedback form.
  • A screenshot only when you choose to include one before opening the feedback form.

This data is used to understand feature usage, diagnose problems, respond to feedback, and improve app functionality. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

MIDI, Bluetooth, USB, And Local Network Permissions

Playy Piano asks for Bluetooth, USB, MIDI, and local network access so it can discover and connect MIDI keyboards. These permissions are used for instrument connectivity only. The app does not use them for advertising, tracking, or location profiling.

Internet Access

Internet access is used for Firebase Analytics usage events and for Sentry crash reporting, diagnostics, and feedback. Core piano practice features are designed to work without an account.

Your Controls

You can clear local learning data from the in-app Privacy screen. You can also remove local app data by deleting the app or clearing app storage in your device settings.

Analytics events already sent to Firebase and feedback or crash reports already sent to Sentry cannot be removed from the device. For privacy questions or deletion requests for submitted feedback, use the in-app Feedback button or the developer contact listed on the App Store or Google Play listing.

Children

Playy Piano is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and does not include ads or cross-app tracking.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
